WebDAV is a technology to present folders that are stored on a webpage to be used like any local folder. This description explains how to setup and use WebDAV (known as webfolders under Windows).
Windows
Initial Setup - Variant 1 using Network Places
The following steps have to be completed once to setup the webfolder:
- Open the Network Neighbourhood
- Double-Click "Add Network Place"
- Click on "Continue" twice
- Enter the following URL: https://fish-serv.dyndns.org/documents and click on "Continue"
- When prompted for a username and password, enter the credentials received via email. You may want to check "safe password" for easier use of the webfolder.
- The webfolder will now open and you can see the file/s stored in it.
Initial Setup - Variant 2 using IE
The following steps have to be completed once to setup the webfolder:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Press Ctrl-O (Open)
- Enter the following URL: https://fish-serv.dyndns.org/documents and check the box "open as webfolder"
- If you get a warning regarding the Security Certificate, simply press "Yes" to accept it.
- When prompted for a username and password, enter the credentials received via email. You may want to check "safe password" for easier use of the webfolder.
- The webfolder will now open and you can see the file/s stored in it.
Normal usage
To make usage easier, you may want to create a shortcut to the webfolder on your desktop:
- Double-Click on the "Network neighbourhood" Icon on your desktop
- Drag the entry "documents on fish-serv.dyndns.org to the desktop using the right mouse button
- Drop the entry on the desktop and choose "create shortcut here" from the appearing menu
You can use the webfolder exactly as any other folder:
- Open with double-click
- Open documents stored in the webfolder with double-click, edit and safe the documents
- Add new documents to the webfolder by draging/copying them to the webfolder
- Delete documents from the webfolder

Linux
On most Linux systems simply open "webdavs://fish-serv.dyndns.org/documents" with your favorite file-navigation tool.
